The God of War first-person mod shows the game from a new perspective

From scratch, Sony Santa Monica Studio’s God of War it was made to be reproduced from the perspective of the third person. But now, a user decided to mix things up and see what the game would look like from a totally different point of view. The result is interesting and continues to highlight how remarkable the animation work in the game is.

Identified in a new Speclizer video, the user created a mod to show us what the world of God of War it seems from a first person view. The video highlights this perspective through the eyes of several different characters in the game, including Kratos, Atreus and Mimir. With so many characters appearing much closer to the screen than usual thanks to this mod, it is much more noticeable to see how realistic the facial animations are in God of War as a whole.

The only disadvantage of the video is that we cannot see what the combat itself would look like from this perspective. Obviously, this would probably be a much more difficult task to function properly, but unfortunately, we just have to keep imagining what it would be like. A handful of key scenes from God of War are the only sections that have been highlighted in this video.

It is also important to note that if you check out the video, which is attached above, there are some very important spoilers for God of War included. If, somehow, you haven’t played the game alone yet, you might just want to check out the first scenes instead of watching everything. Also, you must absolutely play God of War if you have the means, because it’s one of the best games in years.

As for the future of God of War, the next installment of the series will be released on PlayStation 5 (and potentially on PlayStation 4) this year. Although it does not yet have an official title, God of War: Ragnarok, as many are calling it, should be shown more as we move through 2021.
