The most affordable but still excellent Galaxy S20 FE is one of our favorite Samsung phones of the year, which left us a little disappointed to be left out of the initial launch of Samsung’s Android 11. Now, Samsung is starting to launch Android 11 and One UI 3.0 for the Galaxy S20 FE.
As reported by SamMobile, some users are getting Android 11 on the Galaxy S20 FE starting today. The update brings the build number G780FXXU1BTL1 and comes with the December 2020 security patch. Earlier rumors set a date this month, but other reports stated that January. In any case, we are happy to see Android 11 already reaching the $ 699 smartphone.
The footprint? So far, this update appears to be being released only in Russia. Your reach is likely to increase in the coming days, but at the moment, we simply don’t have any information available.
Update 24/12: Good news! It appears that the Galaxy S20 FE Android 11 update has been released globally, at least on unlocked models. SamMobile notes updates available in more than a dozen countries, although carrier support may still delay updating your model.
With the Android 11 update, the S20 FE picks up changes from Google, including new notification categories, better media handling and also bubbles for chat apps. Samsung’s skin also receives some very important design adjustments. As soon as the update arrives in the U.S., we will have a better idea of any changes that arrive specifically for the FE.
