The future of Darcy Lewis’ MCU could fix the Avengers: Jane Foster’s mistake in Endgame

Darcy Lewis’ alleged role in MCU projects in addition to his return to WandaVision could fix a mistake Marvel made with Jane Foster in Avengers: Endgame.

Darcy Lewis returns to the MCU in WandaVision and actress Kat Dennings confirmed that she is working on “things” for Marvel, which means that the MCU can fix a mistake it made by leaving Jane Foster out Avengers: Endgame. Darcy, also known as Dr. Lewis, joined the SWORD and FBI agents stationed outside the Scarlet Witch’s hexagonal barrier, which Darcy dubbed “the spell”. Crucially, Darcy was recruited by SWORD for her specialization in astrophysics, after doing a doctorate in the field after her internship with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) in Thor.

When she was introduced to the MCU, Jane Foster was known as one of the most important astrophysicists on Earth, but she was mysteriously absent from the MCU afterwards. Thor: The Dark World – even when she would have been the perfect character in the MCU to study and explain the multiverse timeline, alternative branches and the Quantum Kingdom. Instead, characters like Tony Stark and Bruce Banner – who are brilliant engineers, physicists and biochemists – took on the role of explaining the multiverse when astrophysicist Jane Foster would have been better suited for the job.

Darcy’s return in WandaVision and the MCU’s continued presence creates the possibility of his character becoming a spiritual successor to Jane Foster, who will also return to the MCU, but in a very different capacity. When Jane becomes Lady Thor, Darcy can take on the role of leading astrophysicist in the universe and prove that she is a valuable deadly asset for superpowered beings who, frankly, extract a lot of information from nothing, instead of consulting experts. Particularly when what is at stake in events like Endgame they involve the fate of “normal” humans who rarely have a say in what happens to them other than combatants. With its appearance in WandaVision as a prominent astrophysicist to rival Jane Foster, the MCU shows how far Darcy has come since then Thor and causes how far it could go, which would make up for Foster’s injustice by being removed from Endgame where it should have played a key role.

Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis

In first Thor In the film, Darcy Lewis was introduced to the MCU as a Jane Foster intern, although Jane Foster is an astrophysicist and Darcy was a student of political science at the time. The joke was that Darcy was the only candidate for the job, despite her lack of experience in astrophysics. At the time Darcy appeared in Thor 2, it was clear that she became interested in the field – no doubt inspired by the brilliance and passion of her mentor and friend, Jane Foster. In addition, she has become a genuine expert in a very narrow field. Her WandaVision role has already established it as the key to understanding SWORD what is happening to Wanda and why and even more importantly, what impact could it have on the structure of reality. Given that the MCU has a large multiverse arc emerging, Darcy’s role must be expanded to continue to make her the source of knowledge.

It is currently unclear whether Darcy will return in an MCU film, television show or something else. As Dennings told Extra, “There are some things I did for Marvel that are to come. “ Other possibilities include video games or theme park rides (Disney is adding an Avengers theme area to Disney’s California Adventure), but Dennings ruled out the possibility of Darcy appearing on Thor: love and thunder. Fundamentally, if Dr. Darcy Lewis could somehow continue WandaVision position as an adviser to SWORD and the Avengers, would fill the void left by Jane Foster and return an important voice to the dynamics of the superhero.
