The iPhone 13 models are expected to have a smaller notch and we can take a first look at the potential design.

Greek repair company iRepair provided MacRumors with a purported photo of the front glass panels of the iPhone 13 models, with the same three screen sizes of 5.4 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches from the iPhone 12 line. The notch on each iPhone is noticeably smaller as a result of the headset speaker being moved to the top frame, a design choice that was first announced for the iPhone 12 models last year, but it did not materialize. .

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and some other sources previously said that some Face ID components will be consolidated into the iPhone 13 models, resulting in a smaller notch, but they did not mention that the headset is being repositioned.

The design of the notch has not changed since it was released on the iPhone X in 2017. After decreasing the notch this year, Kuo said that Apple plans to switch to a perforated screen design for at least some models of iPhone 2,022, similar to the Galaxy S21 from Samsung and other recent smartphones, followed by an iPhone with an all-screen design with no notches or holes and a fingerprint reader under the screen as early as 2023.

In addition to the notch, the iPhone 13 models should have a design virtually identical to the iPhone 12 models, with important new features that are said to include a 120 Hz screen in the Pro models, larger batteries, a faster A15 chip and camera improvements. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 13 line in September, marking a return to its normal launch deadline.
