The free Final Cut update for Disco Elysium will be released on March 30

The RPG Disco Elysium, a midlife crisis detective, was one of my favorites, and of many others, when it launched in 2019. It is about to get even better, thanks to The Final Cut edition that is adding new missions and many other voice acting. ZA / UM announced through a new trailer that the free update will be released on March 30.

Previously, ZA / UM explained that the update will add “political vision missions”, more characters, a new area and full English dubbing. In today’s announcement, they also said that “a new feature could make you reconsider whether teleportation is really possible.” Is this a quick travel system? I didn’t really care about having to step back and forth across Martinaise, so I guess we’ll see. For my money, the whole new voice acting is the real victory.

I’m very excited, but I have a big concern about The Final Cut. See, I already have three files saved on the Elysium Disk. In the classic style of RPG players, all of these are minor variations of how I try to be the best hero I can be. I have the policeman of sensitive feelings, the policeman of the rights of the noisy worker and the muscular policeman of the good guy.

Without a doubt, I will start a new rescue file and a new character for The Final Cut. With full voice acting, I will have to listen to my beloved police partner, Lieutenant Kitsuragi, to judge all my decisions out loud. I will wilt with your disappointment and I will never be able to play a truly terrible cop. I am doomed.

If you haven’t played yet, here’s your playbook. “It is not a game about youth and heroism, conquest and revenge, triumph or power,” says Alec Meer (RPS in peace) in our Disco Elysium review. “It is a game about confronting the wreckage itself. It is not a game about regrets, but how shameful these regrets are, how destructive they are. It is a game about how to challenge regrets and build something new from the wreckage. It is a mirror that I can’t get away from. ”

Disco Elysium – The Final Cut will be released on March 30 as a free update to the main game. You can find it on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.
