Update # 1 [Tue 19th Jan, 2021 14:00 GMT]: The Balan Wonderworld demo has also been confirmed for the west. It will be released on all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, on January 28 – the same date as Japan!
Did you like what you’ve seen so far at Balan Wonderworld? Do you want to know if it can be on your street? Well, you’re in luck, because soon the game will have a free demo on Switch eShop.
That’s right, starting on January 28th, you can skip to a sample of this new 3D platform game at no cost. The demo will allow players to check out the first, fourth and sixth chapters of the game, and Nintendo Wire reports that the local two-player cooperative mode will also be supported. The news was announced on social media today:
At the moment, the demo has been confirmed for Japan only, which means that you will need to set up a secondary Japanese eShop account to download it to your system. Hopefully, the demo will also be released in the west, but creating a Japanese account is not much of a problem if you are interested.
If you need to update quickly, Balan Wonderworld is a new platform game from Sonic the Hedgehog creators, Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima. With the theme around a mysterious musical theater, the game will be published by Square Enix and should be released on Switch and other platforms on March 26. Here is a quick description:
The stars of the show will wear special skills in a multitude of characteristic costumes as they venture into the bizarre and imaginary land of Wonderland. Here, memories and views from the real world blend with the things people love.
Twelve different tales await our stars in the World of Wonder, each with its unique peculiarities. They will explore all corners of these labyrinthine stages, using all the hidden tricks and tricks along the way, to get to the heart of each touching story.
