Epic Games is reliving its game Fifteen days series of concerts with virtual performance by electronic artist Kaskade over the weekend of March 26. The show will take place in Fifteen daysParty Royale game mode, and will also feature tie-ins with Rocket Leaguenext season, with the popular competitive car football game developed by Epic’s owned Psyonix studio.
There is a lot, say, corporate synergy going on here. Psyonix has a longstanding partnership with the electronic music label Monstercat to bring major producers of house, bass and other genres to Rocket Leaguegame soundtrack. And Kaskade released his Monstercat debut last fall, an EP called Reset.
Now, Kaskade will be performing Reset in its entirety within Fifteen days, while his performance will be followed by the debut of Rocket League new trailer of the season. The producer and DJ will also apparently “conduct Rocket League cars ”at various stages of the game and“ arrive at the new Neon Fields for a festival-style presentation ”. Oh yes, and the show can also be seen with friends from the social video app Houseparty, another acquisition from Epic in recent years.
Fifteen daysThe concert series from, which began in 2019 with a record in-game performance by electronic artist Marshmello, became an astonishing success during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to experience the kind of live events that everyone, except it disappeared last year. Travis Scott’s Fifteen days The performance last April attracted more than 12 million people, and the company’s Party Royale mode, launched around the same time, became an avenue for all types of in-game events and the types of multicultural shows that transformed Fifteen days in a sort of hybrid media destination.
Since then, Epic has expanded the technology configuration that makes these live events possible with a new studio space in Los Angeles, which it started using for a three-week concert series in September. Now it looks like the developer is ready to re-host live events that push the boundaries with what appears to be a truly transmedia experience covering its many applications, games and music connections.
The Kaskade show will take place inside the Party Royale on March 26 at 8 pm ET, and then on March 27 at 9 am ET and 2 pm ET. Will be part of the next “Llama-rama event ”, where players can win in-game items and other rewards for playing both Rocket League and Fifteen days, from March 25 and running until April 9.
