Darren Dreger of TSN first reported that the Flyers were having some COVID-19 related problems early in the morning. Cryptically, Dredger added that “more information (should) come to light after the medical meetings this morning” He was right.
Ongoing issues related to CoVid with Flyers. More information is expected to surface after medical meetings this morning.

Flyers defender Travis Sanheim tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday morning. The NHL then conducted a quick test on all Flyers players and team members before deciding whether the game would be played. This may have been a mistake.
The problem now is that an additional Flyers player tested positive on Monday night, which means the team could have an outbreak.
An additional positive test last night. https://t.co/gfMfBZ6PD5

This can be bad for capital cities.

It is also not good for referees who took the ice on Sunday.
The two flags that worked on both Sabers-Devils games entered the COVID-19 protocols, Atlético found out.
This gives further evidence for the possibility of transmission on ice, which the NHL said it had not seen definitively. https://t.co/PdsL9B19aP

With the Flyers out of action, the Eastern Division now has only five active teams. The Buffalo Sabers and New Jersey Devils are already off the pitch due to their own outbreaks.
The Capitals had their other two games against Sabers later this week postponed, meaning that their next game will be on Sunday against the Penguins.
