The first paid DLC for Crusader Kings 3 is Nordic themed Northern Lords and will be released on Tuesday • Eurogamer.net

Adds new events, music, cosmetics and more.

Developer Paradox’s excellent medieval strategy game, Crusader Kings 3, will receive its first part of the paid DLC – the Nordic-themed Northern Lords Flavor Pack – on Tuesday, March 16, and will be accompanied by a significant free update on same day .

As its name implies, the Northern Lords Flavor Pack is a smaller scale offering, rather than a fully developed Crusader Kings 3 expansion, and is designed to make the northern kingdoms of the era – and their characters – look more distinctive.

It will, for example, showcase a range of new Viking-themed cosmetics, including new clothing and hairstyles for characters, as well as new ships, units and exploration models for the map.

There are also new songs and a series of new events, decisions, legacies and innovations with scripts appropriate for the region, specific to those who play in the north.

The Northern Lords Flavor Pack for Crusader Kings 3 arrives with a free update for all players when it launches on March 16. Paradox has already detailed its most significant additions, including winter as a new gameplay feature, generation of random poetry and the ability to resolve disputes through elaborate duels.
