The first mass vaccination clinic COVID in South Carolina will open tomorrow in Rock Hill

ROCK HILL, SC (CN2 NEWS) When it comes to taking the photo of COVID into the arms of residents, York County leaders say they are the model to follow.

State, municipal and municipal leaders meeting this Thursday, announcing the opening of a new community vaccination clinic COVID within the Galleria Mall. The vaccination clinic will open this Friday by appointment only and for those who are eligible based on the state’s phased approach.

What used to be Home South and Goody’s inside the Galleria Mall will now be home to a mass vaccination clinic COVID.

Rock Hill Mayor John Gettys says: “COVID in some communities has brought out the worst in people, but so far in Rock Hill it has brought out the best in us – and I think this is a living personification, with the volunteers we have coming, with the configuration, with the city working so well with Piedmont especially, to get to this place and start to inject hope into people with each injection. “

Leaders say this clinic is the first of its kind in South Carolina, starting to vaccinate 500 people a day. They say they have a robust list of volunteers now, but are looking for more to increase vaccination.

“If you can come in here and help us put that hope in everyone’s arms, we count on the community to do that,” said Gettys.

Hospital leaders continue to work with the new challenges presented to them. The leaders say it was the community’s collaboration that made this large-scale effort possible.

Piedmont Medical CEO Mark Nosacka says: “Instantly, there was a challenge from the community that we didn’t have before. So, at that moment, it was difficult for us to think about how we are going to face this challenge when we are all dedicated to taking care of people ”.

Rock Hill Mayor John Getty’s says that 500 shots of guns a day is just a start – he and other leaders say they are eager to bring a sense of normalcy back to the community.

“Winston Churchill once said, ‘You don’t give what you can or what you have, you give what is necessary’, and that is where we are right now in our community. AND [I’m] looking forward to seeing that materialize in the coming months, ”says Gettys.
