The first iPad of the year with a 2021 forecast

News of the first iPad launch of the year for 2021 was revealed over the weekend. This first Apple tablet of the year is considered an iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch range. This may well be the first iPad Pro with a mini-LED screen, offering a highlight in Apple’s offerings of the year.

Information about the first iPad of the year comes from a Digitimes report that also noted that Apple was ready to launch flexible OLED panels for the next iPhone. It is unlikely that the next iPhone will be foldable – the flexibility allows the possibility that the next iPhone may have a small curve at the edges – or that the next iPhone will use a more flexible screen to allow for a more robust overall device.

ABOVE: You are viewing the latest iPad Air. You would be forgiven for mistaking it for an iPad Pro or an iPad … they all look quite similar now, don’t they?

The next iPad will have many of the same features offered by the latest iPad Pro. The goal is to replace your current laptop – or at least appear to come into your life through a particularly diverse set of skills. This next generation iPad Pro could be the first of the year with the next A-series chip to be released on Apple mobile devices throughout the year.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro (early 2021) will likely have a screen that surpasses that of the rest of the iPad family, and probably the latest iPhone entries as well. The iPad Pro is the main device to launch a new and more impressive series of screens.

Think of the first time that Apple released a device with a 120 Hz image refresh rate – it was an iPad. Think of the first device that Apple launched with a display panel capable of using Apple Pencil – it was an iPad. Now is the time for Mini-LED wonders.
