A new secret code was found at Neir: automata which allows players to skip the entire game after defeating the first boss. This new discovery was also confirmed as the “final secret” that the game’s developers released a few years ago.

Launched in 2017, Nier: automata is a game with more than a dozen different endings and many secrets. The only way to really win the game is to repeat it several times, obtaining different endings and stories along the way. However, someone has discovered a secret code that allows you to skip all of that and go straight to the end of the game after defeating the first boss.

—Also, watch out for spoilers beyond this point—

Inside Neir: automata, after unlocking the final E, you play in a difficult arcade shooting sequence where you have the task of destroying the credits of the game itself. Once you win this, you can sacrifice your saved data to help others players win that ending. This is also not a joke. Once you agree to give up your data, you lose all your progress. However, reaching this point takes some time and you will have to win the game several times.

That’s where this new cheat code comes in handy, as it allows you to ignore all of that and instead allows you to sacrifice your saved data right after defeating the first boss in Nier: Automata.

Popular modder and dataminer Lance McDonald discovered this wild secret, which is not a flaw, but a real cheat code programmed in the game.

McDonald didn’t fully explain what’s happening in the video above, but it shows him beating the first boss, and then oneafter that, he goes to some barrels and starts to enter the code. Eventually, the screen goes dark and Nier leave you then sacrifice your saved data.

According to McDonald, it took “hundreds of hours” of reverse engineering of the code and the game engine to find that final code. And right after sharing her discovery, game director Yoko Taro seemed to confirm that this was really the final secret.

The Japanese Nier Twitter account also confirmed that this was indeed the final secret. “It seems that the last secret has been discovered. “

Mc Donald’s, who has a history of finding and creating cool things like this, says it will soon release a full video on the new cheat code for skipping games. Until then, you can beat the first boss in Nier: automata and then go to those barrels and try to find the code yourself.
