Attack on Titan’s final season is approaching its last episode, and Crunchyroll has a brand new trailer to add to the hype. The final episode of this season will be episode 16, which is due to air on March 28, but it is not exactly clear how it will end the story.
As you may have guessed from this season’s course, the trailer for the final episode includes many battles. The trailer doesn’t reveal much, often cutting from one bloody or explosive scene to another, without spoiling much of what is to come.
One thing that fans may find a little strange, however, is that the trailer title says very specifically that it is for the end of the season, not the end of the series. This is all the more remarkable because the Attack on Titan the manga, which supplies the anime with its source material, will not end until April 9 and is already significantly ahead of the anime. So, what happens next?
There are some possibilities for the anime series after the “final” airs. More simply, it could just complete the story with a completely different ending than the manga will have. However, as the anime has accompanied the manga so far, it seems unlikely that the show will simply end here, or create a totally different ending.
Another possibility is that Attack on Titan’s final season there will be a second part, which may go on air later this year, or even in 2022.
The last chapters of the manga can also be wrapped up in one or two feature films. With the recent resounding success of the Demon slayer film, which adapted a full arc of the manga for a nearly two-hour film, could be the perfect ending for a series that is as popular worldwide as Attack on Titan.
We still don’t have an official word on what the future holds Attack on Titan. For now, fans will have to settle for Attack on Titan’s final seasonthe season finale of March 28, and the final chapter of the manga, which is scheduled to be released on April 9.
