The final Black Widow trailer shows the villain – and the new release date

Black Widow had a new release date last week and now has a new “final” trailer. With all the delays in the film so far, it seems that Marvel doesn’t want to reveal much more of the plot, so this latest trailer has some new scenes and many that we’ve seen before.

The trailer begins with a familiar narration of previous views of the film. The Black Widow talks about how she had a previous life, one from before her time as an Avenger. And while the previous trailers focused on people she knew from her past life, like Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov (David Harbor) and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz), this is the first time that we’ve really seen flashbacks all over the path to Natasha’s childhood, and how far her connection with these characters goes.

Of course, there is more than just story to the trailer as well. There’s also our best look so far on Taskmaster, the film’s apparent villain. The foreman is sent to hunt Natasha and it looks like he can match all his movements, including fighting in the air on what appears to be a wrecked plane or satellite. The entire rear half of the trailer is packed with action and it looks like Black Widow can take us all over the world to finally learn about Natasha’s past.

As an added bonus, the trailer ends with a fantastic new Russian-inspired version of the Avengers theme.

Black Widow has been delayed for more than a year, but is currently set to launch on July 9, when it will hit theaters and Disney Plus via Premier Access.
