The show was praised for mixing tired cast, featuring BAME cast members in prominent social roles, such as Regé-Jean as the Duke of Hastings, Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte and Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury.

In February, Jonathan promised that the second season of the series will feature a lot of hot sex scenes because they are “at the heart” of the series in an interview with The Mirror.

Reflecting on the series, the 32-year-old said: ‘What is at the heart of Bridgerton is intimacy, identity and sexuality – and of course this is something we will have to do to continue.

‘Incredible producers will work magic, I’m sure, to make sure we still have the steam that we all deserve.’
