The Fifty Shades Of Gray saga to bring things together with Freed’s latest spin-off book: Fifty Shades As Told By Christian … due for release in June

EL James will complete his second Fifty Shades Of Gray trilogy over the summer, this time from the perspective of Christian Gray.

Freed: Fifty Shades Freed As Told By Christian is due to hit stores on June 1, the publisher said on Sunday.

The next novel is the conclusion of author James’ second trilogy, which has Gray giving his side of the story, unlike his partner Anastasia ‘Ana’ Steele, who narrated the original books.

James said in a statement that Freed was a ‘labor of love’.

“For me, as well as for Anastasia Steele, Christian is a challenging, irritating and infinitely fascinating character,” she said. ‘Living in his head is exhausting, but I was able to explore aspects of his life in Freed that we only saw in the original trilogy.’

Dominique Raccah, editor and CEO of Sourcebooks, announced on Sunday that Freed will be published by his company and Bloom Books label.

The James’ Fifty Shades Of Gray trilogy has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide and has been adapted into a series of films that grossed more than $ 1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.

End: Freed is the last book of a second trilogy that regurgitates the events of the Fifty Shades of Gray trilogy, but told from the point of view of Christian Gray, and not from Anastasia Steele

Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan starred as Ana and Christian in the films, the first of which debuted in 2015.

She starred as an English graduate who replaces a friend to interview Christian, a billionaire businessman.

But their brief encounter sends sparks, and she soon creeps into her life. Amid her new intimacy, she discovers her inclination towards slavery and sadomasochism.

Although the films were profitable, the criticisms ranged from dismissive to hostile, with many reviewers criticizing Dornan’s performance and the actors’ lack of chemistry.

James herself was blamed for the films’ lackluster reviews.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the first film, the best critic of the series, complained that the author exercised all the creative control that she was allowed over the production.

“I like everyone and I get very confused when they don’t like me,” she told the Sunday Times magazine in 2017. “I was very confused with EL James. I don’t understand when I can’t guide a person, when there is no synergy. ‘

James went so far as to ask her husband Niall Leonard to write the scripts for the sequels, which were poorly received.
