The holiday season is usually not a good time to be sick and with the number of coronavirus cases growing steadily, keeping you and your family healthy is by far the most important thing to focus on right now.
While disinfecting your kitchen is a must to get rid of external germs, you should also clean your refrigerator and pantry, as the FDA is warning consumers of four different recalls that affect the foods you can serve on holidays. So, before preparing a charcuterie, appetizer or brunch table, check out the four below!

There may be undeclared nuts in this festive selection pre-made on Publix. Anyone who is allergic to pecans can have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they unknowingly consume this product that may contain the nut.
The recall notice says the dishes were in stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. However, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Broward and Monroe Florida counties are not included in the recall.
“The recall started after it was discovered that the product containing nuts was distributed in packages that did not reveal the presence of nuts,” says the ad on the FDA website. “Further investigation indicates that the problem was caused by a temporary failure in the company’s packaging processes.”
No disease was reported, but whoever bought a clear plastic package with a UPC of 4141588690, a lot of W34326, and a validity period of APR / 10/2021 you must return it to Publix for a full refund.

This holiday treat sold at Trader Joe’s was also removed due to the possibility of containing undeclared nuts. Locations in Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado, Kansas, Arkansas and Alabama received deliveries from some of Almond Kringle’s 3,173 units.
It was found that four of the pastries delivered to a Trader Joe’s distribution center and labeled “stuffed with almonds” were incorrect. In fact, they contained pecan filling. The wax paper package for these has a batch code of # 26720. As a reminder of the Publix holiday cookie, no illness was reported.
“If you purchased Almond Kringle with the specified lot code from a Trader Joe store in one of the nine states listed and are allergic to nuts, do not eat. We recommend that you discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund, “says the recall. “Alternatively, you can send an email to [email protected] with a picture of the product label for a replacement item delivered to your door.”

Brie is a basic appetizer, but you shouldn’t serve it this holiday. The baked Brie Sour Cherry made internally at the Market of Choice is being collected because of the undeclared almonds, says the notice on the FDA website. Anyone with an allergy to this nut can have an allergic reaction if they consume the cheese.
Locations of this Oregon supermarket chain in Ashland, Bend, Corvallis, Eugene, Portland and West Linn sold the cheese collected between November 1 and December 4, 2020, according to the recall notice. They have a UPC code of o 217241 414996 and sale by dates until 12/12/20.
There were no illnesses because of this recall, but the supermarket chain is asking customers who bought it to throw it away immediately.

Opening presents on Christmas morning whets your appetite, but if you’re thinking about eating toast or a hot bagel from a bakery, think again. Two Canyon Bakehouse gluten-free bread products are being collected because they may contain undeclared gluten. Anyone with a wheat allergy, celiac disease or sensitivity to gluten or wheat who unknowingly consumes any gluten in these products can have a severe allergic reaction. White bread has a UPC code of 8-53584-00200-3 and a batch number of 032220323.
The recall notice on the FDA website does not list specific stores where bread and bagels were sold, but they were distributed to stores in Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota , Texas, Utah and Wyoming. However, on its website, Canyon Bakehouse claims that its products are sold in supermarkets like Walmart, Whole Foods, Target and more.
“As a dedicated gluten-free bakery, we follow the strict guidelines of the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) … We test all of our finished baked products to ensure they contain less than 10 ppm (parts per million) of gluten, which is the GFCO Standard, “says a statement about the recall on the company’s website. “Our internal tests at Mountain White Bread and Everything Bagels found gluten levels outside GFCO standards. Our team immediately flagged the affected products and placed them in a separate containment area so they could be properly disposed of. Ingredient supplier.”
So far, no disease has been reported.
