The exclusive £ 10 February Fortnite subscriber skin is a new version of fan favorites • Eurogamer.net

After committing to improving the offer within its £ 9.99 per month Fortnite Crew subscription, Epic Games announced an attractive new skin for February and involved it in the game’s tradition.

The exclusive character for February members is Vi, a member of the Fox Clan – the new name for Fortnite for its various characters with Kitsune masks, as the mascot of the fifth season of OG and the fan favorite Drift.

Vi’s set includes the skin of the usual character, back bling and pickaxe, now all in two detailed styles. There is also a wrap (a gun skin) and a loading screen – new items not included in previous monthly offers.

Vi’s revelation was released yesterday afternoon through a series of strange social media posts and a fake acquisition of the game’s official Twitter – all of which was later deleted (again, all part of the game’s narrative).

“Possible match found ///// Drift? Drift. Come in. Do you hear me?” Fortnite’s Twitter posted yesterday in a series of messages. “I know you don’t know who I am, but Clan Fox is in trouble. We need you. We always thought we were the trackers, but something is tracking us now. Something old. Something … bad.

“They took everyone. I barely escaped. I’m … I’m the only one left. Whoever gave you that Clan Fox mask made you a target … If we don’t work together – team – them I’ll go get it See you soon. They are approaching. I need to clear my tracks, but I hope you have received this transmission. If so, I will see you soon. I hope.

Previous narrative passages posted to the Fortnite account were from the character from the game Jonesy, who works for the IO Agency. But a subsequent note from IO suggested that it was not the sender or the mysterious evil mentioned. “If more updates about this mysterious Fox Clan are received, we will continue to post and investigate them,” said another message, now deleted.

During the acquisition of the Twitter account, its background was temporarily changed to this image showing Vi alongside Drift and Catalyst, former members of the Fox Clan. The location here looks a lot like Lucky Landing from the old Fortnite map – which some fans think will be the last return location this season:

Of course, all of this is to sell the £ 9.99 subscription to Fortnite for another month. Two weeks ago, developer Epic Games acknowledged that it has more work to do to “make your subscription an even better experience” after a lukewarm welcome to the launch of Green Arrow in January.

The mere suggestion that a new Drift-esque skin would be released was enough to excite many fans of the character (Fortnite also released a swimwear version of the character called Summer Drift and, more recently, Snow Drift, an icy variant). Pack some extra items and, regardless of whether you think it’s worth the asking price, it’s certainly a more tempting offer.

At the end of another long season, it seemed that the February offer needed to be better to keep members signed up. March, however, will be much easier to sell as it will bring a new season, whose battle pass will be unlocked for all members of the Fortnite Crew.
