The ESPN 300 running back, Camar Wheaton, commits to Alabama, enters Crimson Tide’s class 1

The ESPN 300 running back, Camar Wheaton, committed to Alabama on Wednesday, entering Crimson Tide’s No. 1 recruiting class.

Wheaton is the potential customer in 41st place overall, a 5-foot-11, 195-pound boy from Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas. He chose Alabama over Oklahoma, and gave Crimson Tide 20 ESPN 300 commitments.

He is the first running back in this class for Alabama, but he is the fifth running back of the ESPN 300 that the program has achieved in the last three classes.

His commitment gives Nick Saban and his team seven appointments in the top 50 and 12 in the top 100. Tide was already in the highest-ranked class before that engagement, but is now increasing its leadership over Ohio.

The Buckeyes have two five-star engagements and a potential 17 ESPN 300. With this commitment, Alabama has three five-star prospects, 20 ESPN 300 appointments and 25 total appointments in the class.

The two programs will continue to dispute a position to sign class # 1 in February, but this addition will make it difficult for Ohio to reach Alabama.
