Little remains for the imagination about the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21 next month, especially after more details were leaked about the next flagship phone. But it looks like you may be paying less for Samsung’s latest.
That’s the word of WinFuture, which recently posted a detailed account of what to expect from the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the largest member of the S21 line being prepared for a supposed launch on January 14th. WinFuture has a very good record when it comes to leaks of precise specifications, so it’s worth paying attention to the latest news about the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus.
And we really hope the leaks are correct in this case, as they suggest that Samsung’s latest phones will be slightly cheaper than the Galaxy S20 models that debuted last February. See the Galaxy S20, which is expected to start at € 849 in Europe. (This is about $ 1,042 if you do a direct currency conversion, but phone manufacturers rarely do that, adjusting prices for specific regions.) To put that price into context, you can purchase a Galaxy S20 for € 974 on Samsung’s German website.
Likewise, the Galaxy S21 Plus should cost € 1,049. That’s a small decrease from the € 1,071 price Samsung charges for the Galaxy S20 Plus in Germany.
What these rumored prices mean for the eventual cost of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus in the United States is anyone’s guess. But it seems that Samsung may fulfill the rumor of charging less for its next flagships, to compete better with Apple phones, where you can get an iPhone 12 starting at $ 799.

As for the other specifications in the WinFuture report, they are very similar to what we heard from previous leaks of the Galaxy S21. The S21 and S21 Plus are very similar, sharing the same Snapdragon 888 system-on-chip in their United States versions – in the rest of the world, an Exynos 2100 will power both phones – as well as identical camera configurations. At the back, you’ll find a 12MP main shooter supported by a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120 degree field of view and a 64MP telephoto lens capable of providing a 3x hybrid optical zoom.
It is in size and battery that the two Galaxy S21 models will be different. WinFuture reports that the S21 will feature a 6.2-inch Full HD + AMOLED screen, housed in a 6 x 2.8 x 0.31 inch frame that weighs just over 6 ounces. The Galaxy S21, in turn, will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with the same resolution. It will measure 6.4 x 3 x 0.31 inches and will weigh 7.2 ounces.
Both phones will offer screens with refresh rates of 120 Hz, although only the Galaxy S21 Ultra will have an adaptive refresh rate.
Battery life of Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus
As for the battery, the Galaxy S21 has a power pack of 4,000 mAh, the same size that you would find on the Galaxy S20. The Galaxy S21 Plus gets a bigger battery than its predecessor, opting for a capacity of 4,800 mAh, according to the WinFuture report. This is in line with previous rumors about the two phones.
We won’t have to wait long to see the accuracy of this leak. Rumors suggest that Samsung will hold its first Unpacked event in 2021 on January 14, with Galaxy S21 phones hitting stores by the end of the month.
