The Elder Scrolls 6 it won’t be released anytime soon, according to a source. When Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018, he didn’t announce a release date or even a launch window. More than two years later, that hasn’t changed. Bethesda said nothing salient about the game. All it keeps saying is that the game won’t be released anytime soon, and according to a source, it’s because it really won’t be released anytime soon.
Talking about Bethesda, an industry expert Tyler McVicker recently not only claimed that Fallout New Vegas 2 is in development, but that he does not expect The Elder Scrolls 6 by 2026 at least. For those bad at math, there are five years left. Unfortunately, McVicker does not provide additional details, but suggests that Bethesda Game Studios is focused on Starfield now, which by itself is still a year or two away.
If this timeline is accurate, it would mean that the PS5 and Xbox Series X generation will be almost finished by the time The Elder Scrolls 6 releases, assuming this generation is similar in duration to the PS4 and Xbox One generation. If that seems like a long wait, it’s because it is. However, it’s not that long Fall fans are supposed to need to wait for Fallout 5, which McVicker suggests will not be released until 2030.
Now, it is important to note that it is not clear where the hole ends and where speculation begins. McVicker has proven to be a reliable source in the past, but as that is unclear, be sure to take everything here with an extra grain of salt. In passing, I heard about the end of 2024 until the end of 2025, but that information was not only not verifiable, it was pre-pandemic.
At the time of publication, there is no official release date or launch window for The Elder Scrolls 6. In fact, platforms other than the PC have also not been officially announced, and it looks like we won’t be getting any of this important information anytime soon.
