The driver skids on ramp I-94 at Zoo Interchange near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, diving 21 meters

MILWAUKEE – A driver is lucky to be alive after he skidded onto an intersection ramp in Milwaukee and dived 21 meters to the highway below.

ABC affiliate WISN-TV reports that the accident happened on Saturday morning at I-94 at Zoo Interchange in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The accident was captured in the Wisconsin Department of Transportation camera video, obtained by WISN on Monday.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the truck was traveling on I-94 when the driver skidded from the east ramp to the south ramp. The video appears to show the truck hitting a snow bank on the right shoulder seconds before the fall.

The driver lost control and passed over the barrier before plunging 21 meters into the highway below.

Police said they found the pickup standing when they arrived and two people were helping the driver, who was conscious and breathing.

The sheriff’s office said he showed no signs of disability and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
