Update 2: After the delay mentioned below, the distribution of Galarica Wreath – a necessary item to evolve a Galarian Slowpoke into a Galarian Slowking – is now live in Pokémon Sword and Shield for a very limited time. You can get the item by entering the code CR0WNF1NALS on the game’s Mystery Gift screen.

The code will only be valid until 14h59 UTC tomorrow, Sunday, February 7 (thanks, Serebii). It is 6:59 am PT / 9:59 am ET / 3:59 pm CET.

Update 1: Unfortunately, Serebii reports that the Tournament Finals during which the special code was planned to be distributed have been delayed, which means that it may take a while before you can get your hands on the free Galarica Wreath:

Original Article (Fri, 11 December 2020, 14:30 GMT): Next week, Pokémon Sword and Shield players will be able to easily get their hands on one of the most difficult to obtain items in the game.

During South Korea’s Pokémon Sword and Shield Crown tournament, which will be broadcast live online, a distribution code will be released that grants players a Galarica Crown. This special item is the only way to evolve a Slowpoke Galarian into a Slowking Galarian, so Pokédex collectors and completists will want to grab it while they can.

Serebii reports that the code will “run for only 24 hours from the start of the event until 14:59 UTC on December 20”. The codes are not blocked by region, so you will be able to obtain Galarica Wreath no matter where it is based, once the code is shared.

It is worth mentioning that you can obtain a Galarica Crown in the game without using a special code, but it is one of the most time consuming items to obtain. To get one, you’ll need to find no less than 15 Galarica Twigs – an already relatively rare item – and deliver them to an NPC at Crown Tundra’s Roaring-Sea Caverns. If you are struggling to find them, this will be a great opportunity to speed up the process.
