The developer of ‘Axiom Verge 2’ shows a little gameplay before its release in the spring

The success of 2015 side scroller Axiom Verge is getting a sequel, and developer Thomas Happ showed a little more of the game during today’s Future Games Show. Happ said he kept things short to avoid spoilers (even if there are spoilers to be a spoiler), but confirmed that this game will take place before and after the events of the first title.

One thing that hasn’t changed is that the game touches on the gameplay of the great side scrollers of the past: Metroid, Against and others. In the short clip you can get an idea of what Happ means when he says that there will be new and different game mechanics in this sequence, but the real understanding of the new game will have to wait until it is released this spring at the Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch.
