The detailed leak of the Galaxy A72 lists premium features, reveals all colors

Leak of Samsung Galaxy A72 printer renderings

After launching the affordable Galaxy A32 5G last month, Samsung’s next stop is announcing the Galaxy A72. This phone has been the focus of several leaks in the past few days, and thanks to WinFuture now we know almost everything about it.

The Galaxy A72 has a large screen, a large battery and plenty of storage

Balancing Samsung’s familiar design, the latest generation Galaxy A72 is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen that offers a 20: 9 aspect ratio and Full-HD + (2400 x 1080p) resolution. Hidden below is an optical fingerprint reader on the screen.

Recent reports have suggested that the Galaxy A72 screen supports a smooth refresh rate of 90 Hz as well, but WinFuture was unable to corroborate that.

To keep the lights on throughout the day, there’s a generous 5,000 mAh battery that is coupled with some form of fast-charging technology via the USB-C port. Speaking of ports, headphones fans will be pleased to hear that Samsung has included one.

Of course, none of this is useful without a good chipset. Samsung chose the fast Snapdragon 720G octa-core, which can also be found inside the Poco M2 Pro and Oppo Reno 5. Depending on the variant, it is close to 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. The former is combined with 128 GB of storage, while the latter benefits from 256 GB. Both models are compatible with microSD cards.

Will the Samsung Galaxy A72 support 5G networks?

On the topic of connectivity, the Galaxy A72 supports 4G LTE networks. Previous reports have suggested the existence of a 5G model, but WinFuture and Max Jambor both say this is not happening, so you will not be a candidate for the The best budget 5G phone on the market. Other notable details include an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, a plastic back panel and the presence of Google’s Android 11 and Samsung’s One UI 3 right out of the box.

Completing the Galaxy A72 package, there is a plastic frame that houses a volume control and an on / off button on the right. The bottom should include a speaker as well, although a stereo speaker setup is unlikely.

The Galaxy A72 offers a quad camera setup and a 32 MP selfie camera

Cameras are an increasingly important aspect of smartphones these days and Samsung has not skimped on the Galaxy A72. It supposedly features a versatile quad camera setup on the rear.

Leading the way is a 64-megapixel main camera that uses pixel binning technology to produce superior photos with more detail and greater clarity. The default resolution for photos is probably 12 megapixels.

Samsung also equipped the Galaxy A72 with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, 2-megapixel macro camera, rear LED flash and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

As for the 5 megapixel depth sensor that Samsung used on the back of last year’s Galaxy A71, it was replaced by a full 2x telephoto camera that has an 8 megapixel resolution.

WinFuture points out that some of the information on the camera contradicts previous reports, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Samsung Galaxy A72 announcement, release date, price, colors

The Samsung Galaxy A72 is expected to be made official in late February or early March, along with the most affordable Galaxy A52 and A52 5G. Sales and shipments are expected to begin shortly thereafter in Europe, where the phone will be available for € 449 for the 6/128 GB model and € 509 for the 8/256 GB version.
