TheBigSpur.com learned the defensive side of South Carolina’s red-shirt freshmen Joseph Anderson entered the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive side played in four games last season with three tackles. He was a four-star recruit in the 2019 class of Murfreesboro, Tennessee (Oakland).
Anderson becomes the sixth member of South Carolina’s defense in 2020 to join the transfer portal, joining the freshman defensive system Makius Scottfreshman security redshirt Shilo Sanderssecond year security Jammie Robinson, second year cornerback John Dixon and defensive striker Keir Thomas. A fifth-year veteran in 2020, Thomas announced his news on Tuesday afternoon.

HIGH SCHOOL
Graduated from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in December 2018 … trained by Kevin Creasy … the Patriots finished 14-1 and were state champions of Division I Class 6A Tennessee in 2018, after allowing only seven points in the total in his last four playoff games … recorded 60 tackles with 16 tackles for loss and three sacks as a senior, despite dislocating his elbow in the first week … played at Siegel High School for three years before moving to Oakland … considered the second best player in the state of Tennessee, the eighth best defensive strong side in the country and No. 134 overall, according to 247Sports Composite.
