The death of a British teenager who disappeared in Malaysia did not involve other people: coroner

A Malaysian coroner determined that the death of British teenager Nora Quoirin was probably a misfortune that did not involve other people.

The 15-year-old from Balham, southwest London, disappeared from a hotel in August 2019.

Rescuers searched for 10 days before her body was found in a stream just over 2.5 km from where she was last seen at the Dusun eco-resort in southern Negeri Sembilan.

Reading his verdict for a virtual hearing attended by Nora’s parents, coroner Maimoonah Aid said: “After hearing all the relevant evidence, I declare that there was no one involved in Nora’s death and it is more likely than not that she died by misfortune. that is, she left Sora House on her own and later lost herself in the abandoned palm oil plantations. “

She said it would be a violation of her duty to speculate about the involvement of third parties without any evidence.
