The CW grants early renewals for 12 programs, including Walker Reboot
Just two weeks after his debut on the network, Jared Padalecki led Walker, Texas Ranger reboot proved to be a success enough for The CW, as it is one of 12 programs to win an early renewal of the network for the 2021-2022 season.

“Although we are only a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to have a strategic advantage in the next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start plotting history and hiring staff, while at the same time, continuing to provide us a strong and stable schedule to build for next season, ”said Mark Pedowitz, president and CEO of The CW, in a statement. “As the CW’s 2020-2021 season begins to run at high speed, we are creatively enthusiastic about directing our first new shows from the beginning, walker and Superman and Lois, that we wanted to ask for additional episodes to complete its first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the release of walker, which debuted as the premiere of our most watched series in 5 years. “
In addition to compensating for a very early renewal of the second season, walker also received five additional episodes or its freshman season to increase the total episode count to 18. Although its most recent DC series did not receive an official second season order, the CW ordered two additional episodes for Superman and Lois, bringing its total episode count to 15 in its first season.

Alongside the western police series starring Padalecki, which marked the network with its biggest debut in five years, the CW renewed the sports drama All Americans for a fourth season, Bat Woman for a third season, the Charmed restart for a fourth season, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for a seventh season, the Dynasty restart for a fifth season, The Flash for an eighth season, In the dark for a fourth season, Legacies for a fourth season, Nancy Drew for a third season, Riverdale for a sixth season and Roswell, New Mexico for a fourth season.
