The cover of ‘Here comes the sun’ makes the Internet laugh

Jon Bon Jovi, of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, joined the CBS prime time post-opening special on Wednesday to sing a cover of the 1969 Beatles hit, “Here Comes the Sun”, and his performance immediately generated problems on social networks.

Tonight’s performances were all pre-recorded and the concert was hosted by “News of the World” (and coronavirus survivor) star Tom Hanks. Bon Jovi was the second act of a star-studded formation that included Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry.

The 58-year-old rocker from New Jersey presented his version of “Here Comes the Sun” from a pier in Miami, and one thing that spectators soon joked about was that the scenery was ironically cloudy. People tried to identify the pier he was acting, and a reporter commented, “Gee, even Bon Jovi moved to Miami.”

Some people commented on Bon Jovi’s hair – his flowing silver curls resembled some viewers of one of the Golden Girls. “Jon Bon Jovi spreading strong Bea Arthur vibes”, a Twitter user said, referring to the actress who started playing Dorothy Zbornak in “Golden Girls” in 1985.

While some people scoffed at Bon Jovi’s appearance, other viewers said they found the “Blaze of Glory” singer very good. “Jon Bon Jovi looks like what Bill Clinton thinks he looks like”, CNN correspondent and “United Shades” host W. Kamau Bell tweeted.

Even Iranian fighter Iron Sheik (whose real name is Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri) influenced the performance and seemed to be a fan. “I CAMEL EMBRAIA DE JON BON JOVI IN A BED OF ROSES”, he tweeted in capital letters during the presentation, referring to his wrestling movement in the ring.

Of course, many people liked Bon Jovi’s presentation, and his choice of a sentimental song made many people go to Twitter to say they were ripping watching.
