The court grants permission to the accused Capitolous rowdy to travel to Mexico for a pre-planned work trip

A court granted accused Capitol rebel Jenny Cudd permission to travel to Mexico later this month for a pre-planned “weekend retreat” with her employees.

Cudd was accused of entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct last month after she was allegedly part of a group that broke down the door of Mayor Nancy Pelosi during the Capitol rebellion on January 6.

One condition for Cudd’s release from prison last month was that “travel outside the continental United States must be approved by the court.”

On Monday, her lawyers asked the court to allow her to travel to the Riviera Maya, Mexico, from February 18 to 21, for a pre-planned trip with the employees of a florist she owned.

“Before the alleged offense in question, Ms. Cudd planned and paid in advance for a weekend retreat with her employees,” says the motion her lawyers filed. “This is a job-related retreat for employees and their spouses.”

Jenny Cudd, a rowdy accused of Capitol Hill and a former candidate for mayor of Midland, received permission on Friday to go to Mexico for a pre-planned work trip later this month.

The court noted on Friday that Cudd’s pre-trial services officer and prosecutors did not object to the request.

“The Court also notes that the Defendant has no criminal record and there is no evidence before the Court suggesting that the Defendant is a risk of escape or represents a danger to third parties,” says the court order.

Cudd shared a now deleted video on Facebook in which she boasted of being part of the group that broke into Pelosi’s door.

“We broke … the door to Nancy Pelosi’s office, and someone stole her hammer and took a picture sitting on the chair and turning off the camera,” she said in the video.

Cudd told the Associated Press after she was arrested that she did not go to Pelosi’s office and did nothing violent.
