BioWare gave us our first real experience in Mass Effect Legendary Edition last week. The remastered package includes all three titles from the original trilogy, retouched with enhanced character models, features, textures and lighting. It is also configured to run at 60 frames per second on the PS5 and PS4 Pro, with support for 4K resolution.
We’ve already seen how Commander Shepard’s mug was redesigned in the first game, but what about everything else? Well, GameSpot has put together an excellent nine-minute video that aligns the scenes from the original games (on the PC) with those in the reveal trailer, which we have incorporated above. It didn’t take long to realize that the Legendary Edition is an expected leap in the right direction. Everything has an extra level of detail and the lighting is much more effective. The difference is not so noticeable in Mass Effect 3 (again, expected), but overall, Legendary Edition looks great.
