“Cobra Kai” actress Courtney Henggeler was about to leave Hollywood behind when she landed a role on the Netflix series.
“My husband told me that I couldn’t give up because we got our health insurance through SAG,” said the 42-year-old actress, who has had several leading roles over the past decade.
“He was like, ‘Hang on a little bit longer until we can figure out our next step in health insurance.'”
Fortunately for Henggeler, a week later, she was chosen to star alongside Ralph Macchio and William Zabka in “Cobra Kai”, in the role of Macchio’s wife, Amanda LaRusso.
“I definitely made his name a word in the first two seasons of shooting,” she admitted de Macchio. “He was like, ‘You can call me Ralph.'”
However, Henggeler – who appeared in series like “The Big Bang Theory”, “Mom” and “Happy Endings” – confessed even more when he grew up that it was Zabka’s character, the villain Johnny Lawrence, who stole his heart in the original film 1984.
