The journalism industry has evolved into a “look at me too” movement, Fox News contributor Joe Concha said on Wednesday, calling CNN host Brianna Keilar’s swearing attack on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the example latest in the network’s commitment to “performance art.”
Keilar called the Republican governor “an a–” on her program on Tuesday after he rebuked a reporter for the same network for appearing to blame him for issues of distributing the coronavirus vaccine to local Florida hospitals.
“This is a CNN standard,” Concha told “Fox & Friends” co-host Steeve Doocy. “We saw this with Jim Acosta during press conferences at the White House, or with April Ryan, where they will get into a confrontation, often planned with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, or Sean Spicer, or President Trump, and then they go to after talk about how they were so victimized because that particular person in power or spokesperson was so cruel to them. “

Concha noted that on Monday, during her angry conversation with Governor DeSantis, CNN reporter Rosa Flores had a camera focused on her while accusing him of not having a plan to ensure that the elderly did not have to wait in long lines for the vaccine .
DeSantis criticized Flores for not researching the issues raised in his question while she tried to talk about him. After a tense exchange, DeSantis explained that the coronavirus vaccine was distributed to hospitals and hospitals decide how to dispense it.
“How many times do you see during an external press conference a group in which the reporter receives a camera and the person being questioned receives a camera,” said Concha. “The reason you do this is because you are looking, as a reporter, to do a montage with the sole intention of not getting an answer to inform the audience, but to push a narrative and go viral. Concha said Keilar’s use of “a word” proves that the network’s intention is “not to inform”, but “to act.

It’s the ‘look at me too’ movement for many in journalism, letting out bad words or getting into clashes by doing monologues to ask specific questions that inform the public. “

Concha said he believed the leftist media had renewed interest in the governor because “they see him as a possible candidate for the presidency in 2024 if President Trump decides not to run.”
