Streamer Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff revealed his theory of how Warzone season 2 teasers could lead to the destruction of Verdansk.
Almost all Battle Royale games on the market have multiple maps. Fortnite changed to an entirely new map for Chapter 2, and Apex Legends spins from several maps that undergo significant changes each season.
Renaissance Island was added to the War Zone in December, but this smaller map was not designed to replace Verdansk’s large-scale real battle action.
For months, Call of Duty: Warzone players have been waiting eagerly for a new full-scale map, and after the teasers for Season 2 in Verdansk, NICKMERCS has a theory about how this will happen.
Warzone season 1 is scheduled to end in February, 24 and season 2 teasers are being seen in Verdansk. Lightning appeared in the sky and strange machines asking players to “activate zombies” were found in the Hospital and Stadium.
The zombies came to Verdansk for last year’s Halloween event and it looks like they will be back soon. Although the machines that ask players to “activate zombies” do nothing yet, NICKMERCS believes that they will be the key to the war zone’s progress towards a new map.
Since the secret bunkers containing nuclear bombs began to appear in the war zone, “there is always talk of a large nuclear bomb hitting the map”. As NICKMERCS explains, a zombie outbreak would be the perfect reason to blow up Verdansk.
“We take control of the zombies, drop the nuclear bomb, blow up the map and go elsewhere.”
With players anticipating an in-game event to kick off Season 2, escaping a zombie-infested Verdansk before it detonates seems highly plausible and exciting.
It is almost confirmed that after Verdansk, Warzone will move to the Ural Mountains. This location is the map of Fireteam: Dirty Bomb from Black Ops Cold War (as Verdansk went to Modern Warfare’s Ground War) and was mentioned in the post-credits scene for Firebase Z Easter Egg.
As we approach Season 2, we expect more teasers and Easter eggs to be discovered on the war zone map.
