The conversation between Chicago Bears and Russell Wilson really started to heat up last week, since Wilson’s agent revealed Chicago as one of the four preferred commercial destinations for the Seattle Seahawks quarterback.
The Bears reportedly made Wilson’s acquisition a priority, which comes as no surprise due to the Chicago quarterback’s problems and the uncertain future of Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy after 2021.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler has been in the entire Wilson-Bears discussion, and he hopes the Bears will make a move to try to land the QB. Although it is ultimately up to the Seahawks to make it happen.
“The expectation is that Chicago will try to take a big hit here to catch Russell,” said Fowler at “SportsCenter” on Sunday (via Bleacher Report). “Now, Seattle has given no clear indication that they are going to change it. Russell Wilson himself does not yet expect to be negotiated. But Chicago will at least try to make that change and put together a package. This is what most people in the league expect. “

Fowler reiterated reports from previous weeks about Wilson’s interest in the Bears due to his offensive line, head coach with offensive mentality and market.
“I was informed that Russell Wilson is intrigued by the Chicago market, the head coach with an offensive vision and the emerging offensive line,” said Fowler. “But make no mistake, Chicago has scoured the land in recent weeks looking for its defender options.
