Jet Blue passengers booking cheap flights should be prepared to take less luggage.

JetBlue said it will only allow customers who purchase their standard bus fares, including their Blue, Blue Extra and Mint business class tickets for the superior storage space of domestic flights.

“Starting on July 20, we will limit Blue Basic fares purchased on or after February 25 to a personal item that fits under the seat,” said Joanna Geraghty, president and COO of JetBlue in the memo.

As airlines continue to struggle during the less-booked travel pandemic, the New York-based airline continues to compete with low-cost airlines like Spirit, lowering its prices. Likewise, United Airlines also makes it easier for customers with basic economy tickets to pay for space in the upper compartment.

JetBlue says that if you run out of space in the upper compartments, those who bought tickets with included handbags will receive a $ 25 travel credit, valid for one year.
