Last week, Gina Carano was fired from “The Mandalorian” after posting a controversial image on social media.
The actress played Cara Dune in the Star Wars series and according to IndieWire, a Disney spokesperson confirmed that her character will not be recast for the next third season.
Earlier this week, Carano revealed that she was put aside during the press promotion for the second season, after she and Lucasfilm (who produces the show and is owned by Disney) came into conflict with each other.
The 38-year-old woman told former New York Times columnist and editor Bari Weiss in her Common Sense newsletter that Lucasfilm was not happy with Carano’s behavior on social media.

Carano says the friction started with Lucasfilm in November, when she changed her Twitter profile and added “beep / bop / boop” as her pronouns, which some people interpreted as a mockery from the transgender community.
The former MMA fighter claimed that Lucasfilm wanted her to post an apology written by her team.

“At the beginning of last year, before the release of ‘The Mandalorian’, they wanted me to use their exact words for an apology about the use of pronouns. I refused and offered a statement in my own words. I made it clear that I didn’t want to nothing to do with mocking the transgender community, and I was just drawing attention to the abuse of the mafia by forcing people to put pronouns in their biographies, “she explained.
“It was the last time I was contacted about any kind of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm,” added Carano.

She said she found out on social media that she was fired.
On February 10, a Lucasfilm spokesman said in a statement obtained by Variety: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. However, her social networks publish denigrating people based on in their culture and religious identities are abominable and unacceptable. “
Lucasfilm said Carano is no longer on the cast of “The Mandalorian” after many online resigned because of a social media post that compared the experience of Jews during the Holocaust to the political climate in the United States.

The post in question on Instagram carried a message in which she compared today’s political divide with events in Nazi Germany.
After his resignation, Carano was also dismissed by his talent agency UTA and Hasbro reportedly canceled plans to make more toys based on his sci-fi character.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, retailer BigBadToyStore noted that the company is no longer producing action figures of Carano’s character due to recent events, forcing it to cancel pre-orders.
“The Star Wars Black Cara Dune number was released in 2020 and sold out not long after the stock was received,” a BigBadToyStore spokeswoman told the channel on Monday by email. “Hasbro planned another production run and we were accepting orders for that run. Due to recent events, Hasbro was no longer approved to produce more of this number.”
Disney’s dismissal of Carano prompted many fans of her and “The Mandalorian” to sign a Change.org petition asking Disney to reverse its decision to fire the actress.

Despite requests to reinstate it, Carano has already changed from “The Mandalorian”. According to Deadline, the actress is fighting back at Disney and canceling the culture by partnering with Ben Shapiro’s The Daily Wire on a new film project.
Lucasfilm did not immediately respond to Fox News’s request for comment.
