South Carolina’s 4/5 threw Temple out of the Colonial Life Arena on Thursday night with a series of races that condemned the Owls. 103-41. Gamecocks were led by second-year guard Zia Cooke, who accumulated a 23-point high in the season, including 5 out of 7 in the three-point range. After drawing the game at 14, the Gamecocks ended the period with a 7-0 run to lead 21-14 in the second period. The Gamecocks had a 10-0 run before Temple hit a bell by hitting three points to take the 44-25 lead at halftime. The Gamecocks
scored early and often in the second half, beating the Owls 59-16 in the second half to improve to 5-1 when they took a week off for Christmas.
