After a meteoric race of initial rankings, The blacklist became a trusted utility player and ratings performer for NBC. In the first two episodes of this season, The blacklist it is on average with a respectable rating of 1.2 in adults aged 18 to 49 and its debut on November 13 reached 7.5 million viewers in total audience.
The series is a long overdue digital / display player and brings in a premium premium audience. During the 2019-20 season, The blacklist it reached nearly 39 million viewers on linear and digital platforms, ranking as broadcast drama # 2 among the 18-49 demo at $ 100K + per family on an index basis.
Besides that, The blacklist remains a major profit generator for the leading Sony Pictures TV studio, with strong international sales and a very lucrative Netflix streaming business. NBCUniversal is sharing revenue outside the network due to the company’s 50% stake in the program, giving the network an additional incentive to keep it on the air.
The blacklist airs on Fridays at 8pm. This week’s episode (January 29) marks a milestone for the series as the # 1 name on Raymond Reddington’s notorious blacklist is revealed.
