The Binding of Isaac: Repentance will be released on March 31, 2021, for PC via Steam.
There is still no release date for the console for the “final expansion in sequence size”, but creator Edmund McMillen says will “expand the game a lot, adding tons of new bosses, floors, alternate paths, items, story elements, challenges and some amazing characters (and more!)”.
Here, take a look at this brand new teaser (thanks, Eurogamer):
Creator Edmund McMillen announced the new DLC on the game’s 9th anniversary. Repentance is now available for wish list on Steam and your newly created store page it is full of details and figures that are always impressive.
Repentance will add more than 130 items, 100 enemies, 25 bosses, two playable characters, 5,000 potential room layouts and 100 achievements when it arrives. It also brings “an alternate path complete with new chapters and a new final and final boss”.
“It is too big a game to be called a sequel: regret takes Isaac to new levels of adventure in roguelike-like dungeons, while the brave boy goes down to the basement for his biggest challenge yet.” the Steam page reads. “Isaac’s new mission takes him to unknown places where he has never been, full of horrible new enemies and bosses, weapon combos that you have never synergized before and items that he has never seen … profane terrors of his wildest and worst dreams Nightmares!
“The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is so big, so new and so full of features that it makes previous updates look like prequels,” he adds.
There is a lot to be excited about at the games this year. Here they are next 2021 games we really can’t wait.
