UFC 257: “McGregor vs. Poirier 2 ”took place on January 24, 2021, inside the Etihad Arena on the“ Fight Island ”in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The pay-per-view (PPV) card featured two light fights that Dana White hoped would bring Khabib Nurmagomedov out of retirement: Conor McGregor (22-4) vs. Dustin Poirier (27-5, 1 NC) and Dan Hooker (20-9) vs. Michael Chandler (22-4).
Although none of the fights seemed to have what “The Eagle” was looking for, despite two spectacular submissions, “Iron” Mike Chandler certainly got what the UFC was looking for. The three-time Bellator MMA lightweight champion proved his ability several times with victory after victory, submission after submission and knockout after knockout during his tenure at Bellator MMA.
Even before Chandler ran out of his contract with Bellator, the promotion put together a package showing some of his biggest stoppages inside the cage. See how it compares to the performance he performed against Hooker.
