I had fun thinking about the Chicago Bears making history in the NFL by becoming the first team to do the postseason as the seventh seed.
And then I realized the real historic moment is that they will be in the first NFL playoff game on Nickelodeon.
It’s the Bears and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, January 10th at 3:40 pm CT from the Superdome at Big Easy. You can watch the game on CBS, Amazon Prime and Nickelodeon. Yes, THIS ONE Nickelodeon. Remember they’re playing the Nickelodeon game? Yes, now it will be the Bears, with the slime, SpongeBob and Mitchell Trubisky having to go through the Hidden Temple or something.
SpongeBob, Slime and Googly Eyes, @NFLonCBS and @Nickelodeon will present the NFL like you’ve never seen before on the Wild Card Weekend.

For some, it is not worrying that the game Bears-Saints is on a children’s network. But for the league – and football in general – it’s an opportunity to have fun, do something innovative and maybe have a laugh or two along the way. And if Drew Brees slips in some slime at some point and throws a pickaxe, so be it. Oh, and again, you don’t * need * to watch the Nickelodeon broadcast version.
But also, the most important thing coming from the league’s Super Wild Card Weekend lineup is that Bears and Saints are playing on Sunday, not Saturday. And here’s why:
Playoff note: o #Saints play the #Bears next Sunday at 3:40 pm. This means that RB Alvin Kamara has a chance to play if he is eliminated from the COVID-19 reserve list.

Of course the Saints playoff game is on Sunday. This gives New Orleans enough time to remove running back Alvin Kamara from the COVID-19 protocols and remove him from the reserve list. Well, that is certainly convenient.
The Saints and Bears clashed earlier this season, with New Orleans securing an overtime victory at Soldier Field. This competition was best remembered by Javon Wims punching CJ Gardner-Johnson while wearing his helmet, being ejected, and the Bears later passed out after that moment. So, in a way, there’s a game of revenge on the horizon for Wims and company. Just don’t do this by engaging in extracurricular activities that can result in a penalty and ejection. Hurting your team is as selfish as hitting someone wearing a helmet is painful. Just saying.
Anyway, here is your Wild-Card Weekend schedule in its entirety:
