Eagles assistant coach and running back coach Duce Staley was passed over after an interview for the Philadelphia coach post, and now another team is interested in getting Staley to leave the ship.

The Bears are interested in adding Staley to the team, according to Adam Jahns of TheAthletic.com.

Chicago has not yet interviewed Staley and needs the Eagles’ permission to do so. Teams do not need to let technical assistants go, although in Staley’s case, if he wants to leave, it would be strange for the Eagles to force him to stay after he has been passed over for the position of head coach.

Staley has been on the Eagles team in a variety of roles for 10 years, including two years working alongside Bears coach Matt Nagy. Staley also played for the Eagles from 1997 to 2003.
