After all, defensive tackle Mario Edwards will not hit the free agency.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the Bears reached an agreement with Edwards in a multi-year agreement.

A pick from the Raiders’ second round in 2015, Edwards spent three years in Oakland before going to the Giants in 2018, the Saints for 2019 and the Bears for 2020. He signed with Chicago three days after becoming a victim of the list final in New Orleans.

Edwards played 15 games last year for Chicago, setting the record for his four-sack career.

His return to Bears comes despite the fact that he was suspended in the first two games of 2021 for violating PED policy.
