The bears add WR Kadarius Toney, QB Kyle Trask to the new 2-round simulation sketch

The Chicago quarterback’s concerns are no secret – after failing to negotiate with Russell Wilson and settle with Andy Dalton. There is no better time for GM Ryan Pace to break his streak of not calling a quarterback than this year.

The Bears will not get a quarterback from the top five, but there are still some development prospects on the board that they can target on Day 2. McShay has the Bears addressing their concerns about Florida quarterback Kyle Trask in the second round with the 52nd choice general.

Here’s what McShay had to say about Trask:

Similar to Washington, the Bears plunged into the QB pool on Day 2 with Trask, who has great touch and anticipation in his passes, despite some weaknesses in his arm strength. He could learn behind Andy Dalton and Nick Foles and receive a change to become a potential newcomer in the future.

While there is a belief that Chicago could negotiate to select one of the top five potential quarterback players – who are likely to be out of the board before choice 20 – that may not be the case.

The Bears have been doing their homework in the Day 2 quarterbacks, which would make Trask a likely option for a team that is still looking for a franchise quarterback.
