The Baltimore Ravens bettor Sam Koch’s 15-year streak ended at 239

OWINGS MILLS, Maryland – Baltimore Ravens bettor Sam Koch is not expected to play Sunday at Cincinnati Bengals, which would end the NFL’s third longest running streak in 239.

Koch is on the reserve / COVID-19 list after his test on Wednesday was inconclusive. That would mark the first time he lost a game in his 15-year career in the NFL.

The only players who currently have longer streaks in the NFL are Dallas Cowboys LP Ladouceur long snapper (252 games) and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers (240). The Koch sequel is also a record in the Ravens franchise.

“I’m sure he has to leave based on the day count,” said Ravens coach John Harbaugh after Friday’s training. “That’s how I’m reading it now. I’m just assuming it won’t be there.”

Harbaugh later added: “I don’t expect him to leave after Sunday.”

This is an indication that Koch has not tested positive and will only need to be quarantined for five days. It will be available if Baltimore (10-5) advances to the postseason. Ravens can guarantee a place as a wild card by beating Bengals (4-10-1). If the Ravens lose, Baltimore can still guarantee a playoff spot if the Colts or Cleveland Browns lose.

Johnny Townsend, who has not participated in an NFL game since 2018, will replace Koch on Sunday. A choice of the fifth round of 2018 by the Raiders, Townsend was signed by Baltimore on Thursday and had a full workout with the team.

“We are very happy to have you,” said Harbaugh. “He had a good workout today. We hope he does very well in the game.”
