Square Enix editor and developer Arzest will launch a demo for Balan Wonderworld for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam on January 28 worldwide, the companies announced.
The demo will feature Acts 1 and 2 of Chapter 1, Act 1 of Chapter 4 and Act 1 of Chapter 6, as well as access to Tims Island, the central area where you can also create mysterious creatures called Tims. The demo also supports local multiplayer for two people.

Two players can explore the game as the stars of the show Leo and Emma in the local cooperative mode, combining skills from different costumes to access new paths that are not available in the solo game! Simply connect a second controller and press any button to activate cooperative mode. Using a variety of costume skills, players will be able to collect Balan Statues in each stage, as well as access Balan’s Bout’s hidden mini-games. The demonstration will feature three of Balan Wonderworldthe twelve magical worlds:
World 1 – The man who rages against the storm
- Play areas: Act 1, Act 2, Boss Battle
World One is set on a beautiful farm, made up of giant hills and plantations. This mysterious world is woven from the memories within the heart of Jose Gallard, a farmer whose beautiful cornfield was hit by a storm. The chief who lurks in the depths of Jose’s world is Barktholomew, the personification of Jose’s despair after seeing his cornfield destroyed.
Use a variety of costumes to successfully complete this level, including the Jumping Jack costume that allows players to jump to places they just cannot reach and the Dainty Dragon costume that uses its breath of fire to clear obstacles in its path!
World 4 – The boy who would make one wind
The Fourth World takes place in a fantastic setting born from the heart of Chang Haoyu and his love for the open sky, where bicycle parts and floating islands of all sizes are scattered across the sky.
Costumes in this world that can be useful include the High Ram costume, which can float by inflating its fluffy wool, and the Aero Acrobat costume, which can soar through the sky and kick balloons and enemies!
World 6 – The girl and the kitten
World Six follows the story of Cass Milligan, portraying the city where she meets a cute kitten. In this magical world built from Cass Milligan’s fond memories, pieces of candy and books float in the air and there are mysterious buildings full of moving gears.
Costumes that will help players solve mysteries and perform powerful attacks include the Gear Prince costume that can rotate switches with the gear in its belly to operate machines, and the Pumpkin Puncher costume that can fire a rocket!
Tims Island
Players will also have access to Tims Island – a base area and gateway to the three mysterious worlds. Here, players will encounter magical creatures called Tims; whose powerful skills can help Leo and Emma as they explore each world and fight Negati! On Tims Island, players can also collect magic drops from the colorful flower beds found around the island. These drops can be provided to the Tims to develop their skills.
Balan Wonderworld will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam on March 26.
