The Aya Neo Switch style portable gaming PC is now on Indiegogo, starting at $ 789

Aya Neo – a Nintendo Switch-style portable gaming PC that promises to offer a complete PC gaming experience in the palm of your hands – is now available on Indiegogo, starting at $ 6,120 HKD (~ $ 789 USD) for 500 GB model.

This version of Neo is technically the second, after the limited and sold out “Founder’s Edition” that Aya offered in January. The new broader version promises several improvements over the initial version, including:

  • An improved operating system
  • Reduced weight
  • The option to switch rumble
  • Better buttons
  • Better power consumption and performance presets
  • Improvements to issues that caused resolution scale issues or blurred screens

The company also showed a new $ 47 optional dock that adds two USB 3.2 Gen 1 type A ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, a MicroSD card slot and an Ethernet connector – another concept similar to the Switch.

The rest of Aya Neo’s specifications are still the same: a 7-inch 1280×800 IPS screen, a 10-25W AMD Ryzen 4500U CPU, 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, three USB-C ports and up to 6 hours of estimated battery life. Don’t expect to play AAA games with high settings, but we were able to run competently Star Wars: Squadrons at 60 fps with Founder’s Edition, and had almost enough power to play the unfinished Valheim in motion.

That said, Aya Neo is still a crowdfunded product from a first-time company. And while it is encouraging that Aya managed to launch her initial edition of Neos, there are still the usual risk elements when it comes to crowdfunding products – even those that are technically second-generation models.

But if you are willing to roll the dice, you can bet on Aya Neo on Indiegogo for $ 6,120 HKD (about $ 789 USD) for the 500 GB model or $ 6,750 HKD (approximately $ 869 USD) for the 1 model TB, which is about 10 percent off the purpose of selling the products after the crowdfunding campaign. The shipment is scheduled for May.
