The Athia Project is now Forspoken, and has a rad traversal system

Square Enix has spent the past year occasionally teasing a new game code-named Project Athia. Now we know his real name – Forspoken – and there is a new trailer below that introduces his protagonist. Which is very good, but the real highlight here is its magical free-running movement.

That moment feels like running and running through the Warframe wall, but it’s basically a free run with superpowers, whatever. I love a good fast movement, and doing this on tiptoe on cliffs and trees looks great.

There is not much other information to share. The game stars a young girl named Frey Holland, played by actress Ella Balinska, who must use magical skills to fight beasts in the world of Athia.

Forspoken’s name was revealed as part of tonight’s Square Enix Showcase, but Project Athia was first shown in June last year, and has since appeared in trailers showing the Luminous Motor that powers it. Both the engine and the game are made by Luminous Productions, a proprietary development studio at Square Enix and formed during the creation of Final Fantasy XV.

Forspoken intends to be released in 2022. I want to call it “Forsaken” so much that I keep writing “Forspaken”.
