Camp construction is at the heart of Fallout 76 and the April 27 game update will finally allow players to create, store and manage multiple camps, a big benefit for the game’s most diligent architects.

Called “Locked and Loaded”, the April update, which also includes a new load manager to quickly switch between character builds, will help reduce some of the main sources of friction that still exist in the online game for more than two years. Currently, players can only build one camp at a time. If they want to build a new one elsewhere or completely change the look, design and theme, they need to discard it and start from scratch.

Camp slots change that, allowing players to store existing camps and bring them back as needed. You can still have one active camp at a time, but in theory you can switch between your main cover, building outpost and mountain escape as needed, adding more variety to the exploration and helping with the reward Fallout 76more creative players, encouraging them to try new ideas. For the uninitiated, Bethesda’s To fall MMO is home to some very cool creations.

On the other hand, Special Loadouts is a new feature that will allow players to manage the construction of their characters more easily. In Fallout 76, they revolve around advantage cards that you collect like baseball cards, updating and equipping them based on your total stats for the corresponding card type. It’s a unique system, but also a mess to deal with and, frankly, something I never want to see in another To fall games. Being able to switch quickly between different buildings will be a good reason to really play with all the different advantages of the game, rather than just stick with those that make you a DPS tank hose and only occasionally switch to crafting buffs while making new ones weapons back to camp.

The Locked and Loaded update will also expand the game’s existing and heavily beleaguered special operations grind, as well as finally bring back PTS so PC players can experience the next game changes in advance and QA free for Bethesda in the process. But April 27 is still a long way off right now, after what has already been a rather slow winter for the live service game. Last year, Fallout 76 changed to a seasonal model focused on earning battle pass style rewards.

The third season, The Scribe of Avalon, started last December a few weeks after a new questline called Steel Dawn aired. Unlike some other live games, Fallout 76The seasons have been intense, but light on the new content so far, and some players are desperate to see what the game’s roadmap will look like for 2021. Camp slots and loading managers are interesting improvements, but they are not new content for to play. Fallout 76The fourth season is scheduled to begin when the new update is released in late April.
